Swelling Formula Vata
About Formula
This classical Ayurvedic formula is traditionally used to reduce systemic swelling (edema), improve kidney filtration, and remove toxins from the blood. It is especially effective for swelling due to Vata imbalances, including kidney-related edema, water retention, and blood dryness or deficiency.

Key Benefits:
  • Reduces water retention and swelling throughout the body
  • Supports kidney detoxification and filtration
  • Improves red blood cell (RBC) count and nourishes the blood
  • Lowers elevated creatinine and urea levels
  • Promotes elimination of metabolic waste and fluid
Especially suitable for those with swelling due to weak kidney function, renal insufficiency, or Vata-type edema marked by fatigue, dryness, and poor circulation.
About Herbs
Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa): Reduces fluid accumulation, rejuvenates kidney function, and supports natural diuresis.
Mandoor Bhasma (Calcined Iron Oxide): Increases hemoglobin and RBC count, nourishes blood, and supports oxygen delivery.
Trivrit, Chitrak, Haritaki, Amalaki, Bibhitaki: Promote digestion, detoxification, and elimination of metabolic waste.
Shunthi (Dry Ginger), Maricha (Black Pepper), Pippali (Long Pepper): Known as Trikatu; improve bioavailability, stimulate metabolism, enhance circulation, and reduce Kapha sluggishness.
Vidanga, Devdaru, Daruharidra, Neem: Purify blood, eliminate microbial toxins, support lymphatic drainage and immunity.

These herbs are combined in a time-tested formula to support blood purification, fluid metabolism, and reduce inflammation—especially for swelling, weak kidneys, or low blood vitality.
How to Take
Suggested Use:
  • Take ½ teaspoon in ¼ cup hot water after meals, 2 to 3 times daily
  • Always take after food to avoid aggravating Vata
  • Safe for long-term use for chronic swelling and kidney-related conditions
Important:
  • Do not take on an empty stomach
  • Pair with a Vata-pacifying diet that avoids cold, dry, salty, or processed foods for stronger results
Pair with or one or more of the following:
  • Kidney-Bladder Detox Tea (#471): Supports fluid drainage and healthy urine flow
  • Circulation Tea: Reduces swelling caused by poor circulation or cold extremities
  • Kidney Cleanse – Vata & Kapha Version: Enhances kidney filtration and supports blood purification
Tips & Notes
Dietary guidelines: Follow a Vata-reducing diet: Eat warm, moist, nourishing meals. Avoid cold drinks, processed foods, salty snacks, and excessive raw foods. Focus on cooked vegetables like squash, zucchini, and bottle gourd, and include natural diuretics like celery, parsley, and coriander.

Dietary changes are important for effective treatment and long-term kidney and blood health.

Note: These Ayurvedic formulas are more powerful than teas, tinctures, or single herbs. Many include formulas within formulas—totaling up to 50 herbs in one product. Ayurvedic products are generally used for specific health issues and often based on Vata, Pitta, or Kapha imbalances. Read each product description carefully before purchasing.
