Dosha Guide

✨ General Dosha Classification Explanation

Although not all products in this store are classical Ayurvedic formulas, everything is categorized according to the Ayurvedic dosha system. As an Ayurvedic doctor, I evaluate each item based on its natural qualities—warming, cooling, grounding, drying, soothing, or stimulating.

This system allows each product to be classified as supporting Vata, Pitta, or Kapha balance.

Some items are tridoshic, meaning they are gentle and suitable for nearly everyone. These are not included in the dosha filters because they do not specifically target a particular imbalance.

If a product does not appear under Vata, Pitta, or Kapha, it is usually because it is neutral or tridoshic, not because it is unsuitable.

🌬 Vata-Dominant Person

A Vata-dominant individual reflects movement, lightness, and irregularity.

Common Vata qualities:

  • Thin or light body frame
  • Dry skin or dryness tendencies
  • Irregular appetite or digestion
  • Active, creative, quick to start things
  • Easily excited, easily tired
  • Prefers warmth; dislikes cold, wind, dryness
  • Light or interrupted sleep

When Vata becomes imbalanced:

  • Gas, bloating, constipation
  • Anxiety, worry, overthinking
  • Dry skin, cracking joints
  • Irregular appetite or digestion
  • Insomnia or restless sleep
  • Feeling ungrounded or overwhelmed

Balancing approach:

🔷 Dual-Dosha Types (Two Doshas at the Same Time)

Many people are a combination of two doshas, such as:

  • Vata–Pitta
  • Vata–Kapha
  • Pitta–Kapha
  • Sometimes the reverse order depending on dominance

This is completely normal and very common.

How to choose products if you are dual-dosha:

  1. Read both dosha descriptions that apply to you.
  2. Identify which symptoms are strongest right now.
  3. Select products that support your current imbalance, not just your long-term constitution.

Examples:

  • A Vata–Pitta person with anxiety and dryness should choose Vata-balancing products.
  • A Kapha–Pitta person feeling heavy or congested should choose Kapha-balancing products.
  • A Vata–Kapha person experiencing heat or irritability may temporarily need Pitta support.

Your dosha filters make it easy to explore products matched to each dosha.
