About Formula
About Formula
Heavy Flow Tea, also known as Excess Bleeding Tea, is formulated for women experiencing unusually heavy menstrual flow. According to traditional herbal use, this blend helps slow excessive bleeding, support proper uterine tone, and ease discomfort during heavy cycles.
This formula uses a focused combination of uterine tonics, astringent herbs, and cramp-easing herbs. Raspberry Leaf supports uterine tone, Shepherd’s Purse and Yarrow are traditionally used to help reduce excessive bleeding, Cramp Bark helps relax uterine tension, and White Peony Root supports a more regulated and moderate menstrual flow.
HerbMan note: When flow is heavy, the formula has to be direct: astringent herbs, uterine support, and cramp-easing herbs.
This tea is especially useful for:
– Heavy or flooding menstrual flow
– Periods with excessive bleeding
– Short-term support during the heaviest days
– Supporting uterine tone before the cycle begins
– Reducing discomfort associated with heavy flow
– Women who need targeted cycle support rather than a daily general tonic
This tea is best used short-term, either starting a few days before the cycle or during the heaviest days of menstruation.
About Herbs
About Herbs
Raspberry Leaf (Rubus idaeus) – A classic uterine tonic traditionally used to strengthen and tone uterine tissue, helping the uterus function more efficiently during the menstrual cycle.
Shepherd’s Purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris) – One of the most well-known herbs traditionally used to help reduce excessive bleeding and support normal menstrual flow. It is a key herb in this formula.
Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) – A strong astringent herb traditionally used to support healthy circulation and help control excessive bleeding. Yarrow adds focused support for heavy-flow patterns.
Cramp Bark (Viburnum opulus) – Traditionally used to relax uterine tension and ease cramping, especially during heavy and uncomfortable cycles.
White Peony Root (Paeonia lactiflora) – Traditionally used to help regulate and moderate menstrual flow while supporting overall female reproductive health.
HerbMan note: Shepherd’s Purse and Yarrow are the stronger astringents; Raspberry Leaf, White Peony, and Cramp Bark support the uterus.
Together, these herbs create a focused women’s blend designed to support heavy menstrual flow by combining uterine tonics, astringent herbs, and soothing herbs for cycle comfort.

Tips & Notes
Tips & Notes
During heavy cycles, avoid hot spices and strongly heating foods, especially chili pepper, garlic, too much onion, and too much ginger. It is also wise to avoid strongly stimulating or blood-thinning herbs and foods if bleeding is already excessive.
Focus on warm, simple, cooked meals that are not too spicy. Favor nourishing foods, adequate rest, and a calmer routine during the heaviest days. Avoid alcohol, iced drinks, heavily processed foods, and anything that seems to aggravate the flow.
HerbMan note: Heavy flow calls for a calmer, stabilizing approach — not hot spices, alcohol, or stimulating herbs.
This tea may be paired with Female Balance Tea for broader hormone and cycle support, especially when heavy flow is part of a larger female hormone imbalance pattern. It may also be combined with Female Health Formula, PMS Tea, or Hot Flash Tea when additional support is needed.
For ongoing, repeated, or more complicated heavy-flow patterns, personalized guidance may be needed to identify the deeper cause and select the best formula combination.
