Tips & Notes
Do not use this tea when constipated. Since the formula is astringent and firming, it should be reduced as loose stools improve and stopped if the bowels become too dry, firm, or difficult to pass.
This tea is better not taken during menstruation because the astringent herbs may reduce menstrual flow. Women with already light flow should be especially cautious.
Dietary guidelines: Add more fiber with meals, especially from whole grains and simple cooked foods. When stools are very loose, plain white rice can be helpful for firming the bowels until the condition improves.
Avoid hot spicy foods, chili, heavy fried foods, coffee, chocolate, nightshades, and other foods that may aggravate heat or inflammation in the colon. Meals should be mild, simple, and easier to digest until the bowels become more stable.
Hydration is important when stools are loose. Coconut water and other gentle hydrating drinks may help prevent dehydration, especially when stools are watery or frequent.
